Who else get's headache auras before a migraine??? I'll bet you can agree with me that they are the WORST EVER.  

What they are:

Some migraines are too harsh on my mind and can actually cause memory loss. Thankfully (and kind of not), my brain decides to shut down what is hurting it, which is vision, hearing, and sometimes the sense of touch, but normally it's most of my vision and/or some hearing. My brain just decides to shut down the parts of my sight that are hurting it, so when I get a headache aura, it's like when you rub your eyes too long and you can't see anything for a couple of seconds: Except it lasts for 45 minutes and it makes me nauseous and dizzy. Not fun. Especially because my peripheral vision is now gone and I can't see what I'm looking directly at while the headache aura is "active". After about 30 to 45 minutes, the brain decides to let my sight continue sending messages to my brain, causing my vision and hearing to return, but it still causes pain everywhere.

Bananas actually help keep me from having migraines. MSG causes massive headache auras, and so do massive amounts of chocolate. I still like chocolate, but a whole plateful can be damaging to my brain. I haven't had any memory loss or anything so that means that my brain's doing well right now and I probably won't lose any memory because of the auras, so that's good.
