I’m Sho, he/him, from a place called Kansas. I was born in 2003. (I would give my age, but based on past experience, I’m unlikely to edit my profile for about 3 more years. Do the math yourself!) Either way, I have been playing in tournaments for at least half of my life.

I finished high school in 2021, took a year to roam around playing chess, and became a National Master in 2022. Then I immediately started college at Swarthmore in Pennsylvania: Class of 2026. Am I a college student pursuing chess as a hobby, or a chess player pursuing a degree in mathematics as a hobby? The interpretation is up to you.

I am kept busy with my hobby of getting a math degree, but I have still been engaging in a modicum of chess coaching. If you are interested in lessons, feel free to message me, but don’t get your hopes up. (I am busy with about 4½ different side jobs, mostly chess- or math-related.)
