the blunder ladder

is an internal competition/ladder where we have the opportunity to challenge each other.

Members will have until 1 August when they can sign up for the first ladder, then you can freely challenge each other on the ladder, the cut-off date is still 1 August

After 1 August you can sign up for the ladder if you joins in the thread. the first ladder will be ranked by rating after which newcomers will be added at the bottom.

The rules will be as follows.

Rules:

1. The Games

All games will be daily, 3 days per move (or less if agreed for both players but no less than 1 day per move). You can play only one ladder game at a time. The game can be rated/unrated, regular/960. It is the challenger's choice on what type of game it will be, however, the person challenged has a choice of rated or unrated.

2. Registrations

Just post that you want to join in this forum topic. All new members that join will be added at the bottom of the ladder.

3. Challenges

You can challenge whoever you want up to three places above you if the member isn't playing a ladder match currently or not challenged already. If the three people immediately above you are playing a game or have been challenged, you may challenge the next-highest person on the ladder. However, you may not challenge anyone more than five places above you, even if all five people above you are playing or challenged. You should post your challenge in this forum. It is recommended you post a link for the challenge, but this is optional. After the challenge is accepted, you must post the link to the game.

The challenge should be accepted within three days from the date that the challenge was posted. If the challenge is not accepted, the challenger can claim a win. See the results section to know what will happen. If you can't challenge the member due to his/her settings, PM him/her and ask that this member challenge you.

No rematches are allowed. This means that you can't challenge the same person after you finished the game with him/her. You have to play somebody else before you can challenge him/her once again.

4. Results

If the player in the lower place wins, the two players switch places. Otherwise, nothing happens. Don't forget to post the link to the result here.

5. Indicator Signs

"P" means the member is playing a ladder game now and can't be challenged.

"C" means the member is challenged by somebody and can't be challenged.

No sign: the member can be challenged.

6. Strikes.

You get 1 strike for:

1. Not accepting a challenge within three days without acceptable reason (for example, vacation).

2. Timing out.

After three strikes the person is removed from the ladder.

7. Forum Topics

We will use this topic for Standings/Rules/Challenges/Registration. If you want to discuss something related to the ladder (or not so much) e.g. ask a question, suggest a rules change, etc., you can also put that in this topic.
