CIA Chess club

Introduction:

Welcome to the CIA Chess club! We plan to make this a platform suitable for learning and casual play. We will be hosting tournaments (Blitz, Rapid, Bullet) on Saturdays, and hope to play against other clubs and schools in the future. 

The aim of the club is to teach beginners and take them to an advanced level gradually through lessons, and hopefully make them competent enough to play in professional tournaments.

Our Cores and Values:

1)  Passion for Chess: We believe in inciting an interest in chess; it was the main reason the club had started.

2)  Respect: We will create an environment where every member shows respect for fellow students, opponents, and the game itself.

3)  Inclusivity: We welcome students of all skill levels that are willing to grow, learn, and enjoy.

4)  Sportsmanship: Good sportsmanship will be ensured; fair play, honesty, and accepting any outcome (victory or loss).

5) Learning and Growth: We will do our part in inciting interest in developing skill regardless of the starting point.

6) Collaboration: We believe no one should be left behind and will encourage everyone to work together to help anyone out when and if needed.

7) Enjoyment: Regardless of skill level we will allow our members to experiment and play the game among themselves; potentially allowing them to learn more on their own as well.
