Come stand with us as we do battle in the UK and Ireland County Council Championship currently four Divisions from Premier Div. to Div. 4A & 4B with promotion and relegation at the end of each season. Comprising:
- English Counties
- Scottish Regions
- Irish Provinces
And from none of the above - Ellan Vannin (aka Isle of Man).
The Isle of Man participates in Chess.com's Official Daily-format Team Leagues -
- The UK and Ireland County Championship.
•Isle of Man only plays 3-day DAILY team matches.
•We do NOT play LIVE chess.
•We are NOT a chess cafe.
•We do NOT waste your time by engaging in endless useless friendlies.
Our commitment to you - is we remain focused and only engage in our registered League matches.
And your commitment to us - is you'll pitch in whenever you can. Even if it's only for three or four Daily-format team matches over the year.
Our Goal is to become a permanent member of the Premier League several divisions above right now.
Ellan Vannin (aka Isle of Man) lies in the Sea of Mann (Irish Sea nowadays). A culture rich and proud of it's Gaelic and Viking heritage. It’s known for its rugged coastline, medieval castles and rural landscape, rising to a mountainous center. Famous for the world's most dangerous motorcycle race, the greatest race on earth, The Isle of Man TT.
Since viking times the Manx ruled the Sea of Man. Ellan Vannin was defeated in the Gaelic-English wars. A possession of the English Crown ever since, Queen Elizabeth holds the Title 'Lord of Mann'. Isle of Man is not part of the UK. Unlike Scotland, Wales & Ulster the Manx refuse to this day to bend the knee to the English Crown.
